Wendy and I had plans to go bowling a week ago, and catch up.
We’ve been friends since college, and we are lucky to still stay in touch.
We moved to the same state after college, but got jobs in different areas. I either drive to see her, or she comes to my town and spends the night. Well, our careers have been taking off, and life is good. However, that meant we only caught up once in a while, and it had been months since the last time we met. So, we planned I’d drive to her home, then we’d go have dinner and enjoy bowling. It took an hour and a half for me to arrive at her front door, and it was about 4pm. That’s when I saw a HVAC repair van on Wendy’s driveway and wondered what the issue was. I exited my car after parking on the road, walked up her driveway and rang her bell. Wendy opened the door a few seconds later, and was so happy to see me. She explained she’d come home about three hours before and realized something was wrong with her HVAC cooling. Wendy had bought an old house in the area with an even older HVAC system. At that time, she wasn’t ready to spend more money on installing a new HVAC system. Instead, she opted to fix the HVAC unit she got with the house, and do a replacement at a later date. Well, that time had finally come since she was facing total HVAC system failure, and needed a new unit to cool her home.
