Today is going to be quite busy. I honestly have a bit of work, however it can feel like a complete day with all of the interruptions that take place. I’m glad that we have hot water in the house now after almost a month of going without it. Taking freezing showers in the evening when I get home is a thing of the past finally. Now I can enjoy a good shower without feeling like I’m jumping into the Arctic Sea. The freezing showers feel horrible on my skin. This is why a hot water heater is such a great thing that I feel like hugging the new unit that we installed last evening. My spouse and I did the install ourselves and we are pretty happy with it. However, there is a slow leak that I need to mend this weekend. I just need to figure out if I need to drain the heating device or if I can mend the leak without draining it completely. It holds about 18 gallons of water and it feels like such a waste having to pour it all out to mend a small leak. But that is the only way I can do it. The heating worker told me that I have to remove this valve from the line and reconnect it, so it looks like draining the tank is necessary to mend the leak and be done with this once and for all. I suppose the outdated tank lasted about nine years and this one should last the same.
