I’m only in my mid fifties but I’m often feeling like a bit of an old man.
I drive an old truck that doesn’t even have working air conditioning any longer.
And it wasn’t but a couple of years ago that I got my first smartphone. So to say that I’m a bit behind the times is pretty accurate. That’s why when it’s time for me to embrace new stuff, I’m often amazed at how different things are. A great example of that is when we replaced the heating and cooling equipment in our home. Believe it or not, we got just over thirty years worth of service from the old HVAC unit. This was HVAC equipment that came as standard equipment when we bought our home. Our house was built in a planned community and we got to choose certain things and one of those was the HVAC equipment. We went with the higher end of the residential HVAC and it paid off. But I think we got most of the longevity out of that HVAC equipment due to all the maintenance from the HVAC professionals. But it was obvious once the utility costs started spiking that our HVAC unit just wasn’t meeting demand anymore. The HVAC technician confirmed this so we got about the process of replacing the heating and cooling equipment. But I have to say that I’m just completely knocked out by all this new HVAC technology that came with our new residential HVAC. I’m also very thankful that it’s pretty intuitive so even a dummy like me can figure it out. But the smart thermostat is really so convenient and is saving me so much more money as it precisely manages the quality heating and air in our home.
